Bringing the outside in is nothing new in home decor, but designer, Emma Tipping, is outdoing herself. Her work is featured at the Chelsea Flower Show and this balcony has everything I love: plants that are both lovely to look at and edible, a rainbow of color and repurposed items as containers and benches.
As of the first quarter of 2023, according to the Newmark United States Multifamily Capital Markets Report, the average multifamily rental unit is $699 less than the total median monthly home payment. Renting has become significantly more economical than owning a home, driven by the growth in debt costs. This means more households will continue to rent, supporting demand.
On my recent trip to Wilmington, NC I had the chance to see the Metropolitan coming to completion and noticed the balconies were spectacular and the renderings showed furnishing and plants.
It’s clear that more households will be taking advantage of their balconies to create an “other” room for pre work coffee and post work happy hour. Cheers.
