In 2014, the Charlotte Housing Authority (CHA) developed a sustainability strategy that established and grew Horizon Development Partners (HDP) as an affordable housing subsidiary of CHA. Located in a sought-after, fast-growing, Charlotte neighborhood, Strawn was the first property that is a part of this new approach – and the largest. Littlejohn and partners worked with CHA and the City of Charlotte to further develop a market-driven strategy for the Strawn site, guaranteeing that the program and pricing were appropriate and competitive.

Strawn’s success was really about the people involved. Littlejohn served as lead consultant, spearheading a team and crafting a strategy that attracted an experienced out-of-market developer with deep ties to financing and a connection to the Charlotte market.
