Norra Tornen, a residential complex just north of Stockholm, was recently awarded the International High-rise Award. The complex boasts two apartment buildings with a 360-degree panoramic view of the city.
Even the project’s developer, Oscar Properties, OMA, was surprised by the honor.
The towers “are different from the conventional idea of a skyscraper. They are not monumental but homely, their aesthetics are informal, and they rely on repetition only to produce diversity.”
