The state of Maine has approximately 1 million tons of “leftovers” in their sawmills to be reused. The University of Maine has developed a 3D-printed house made out of bits of wood. This Financial Times article notes that the business of printing houses is at an early stage but gaining ground fast.

These modern, beautiful homes are bio-based, affordable and 100% recyclable. Win win win.
